while driving alone in the car with W
W: OOOH! Watch out!
thinking we're about to get hit, looking all around car to realize we are basically alone on the road
Me: What are you talking about?
W: You need to be careful.
Me: OK, I'll try.
W: Oh my goo'ness!!! You almost hit dat guy!
again scanning the perimeter of the car...
Me: What?!
W: GASP! You almost crashed into dat tree!
Me: Um, son, we're on the road. The trees are way over there.
W: Yeah, well, you bettuh watch out!
****************************************************
While sitting in a chair yesterday, talking about something I now cannot recall, W slapped me. On the face. HARD.
I think I experienced a momentary "lapse" during which his life flashed before my very eyes. During the next .08 seconds, W found himself across my knee, then nose-to-nose with his stunned, half-crazed mother looking him directly in his now big-as-saucer eyeballs.
Me: HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?!
W: ...
Me: Don't you EVER hit me again.
W: ...
Me: You hurt Mommy. You DO.NOT.HIT.
W: Uh, I meant to, um, hit the...uh, the um ball...and I didn't um, mean to, uh, um, hit you, Mommy.
Me: ...
W: It was um, uh, a ax-dent. I sah-wee Mama. I didn't mean to.
I let him live.
But he bettuh watch out.

Maybe that is what he ment by "You better watch out mommy"...
Been there!
I'm glad you let him live, too...
...and that you were brave enough to post this on your blog for the general public to see! Ha ha ha!
How was there a ball close enough to your face to get hit like that? Hmmm...
How funny (to us!) Joshua usually tries out his..... whatever those lapses of reason are... on Jalyn. Poor girl. Luckily for him, because she has way more sympathy than I do!
This is too funny, I love hearing all your stories! I love the trying to direct your driving one!! And I am sorry about the ball too!! Which is better a ball thrown at your face or them sneezing in your face?? So gross! I get this with my preschoolers all too often and it just makes me cringe!!
Boy do you have ur hands full!! hahahaha. I will keep u in prayer. hahahaha.
Hopefully, he be as careful a driver 13 years from now!
I"m getting worried about ya girl!!! How'd you fair through Gustav? We all know you guys luck with Storms. Will you please never again threaten mother nature? Don't encourage her either with comments like "bring it on." It's just no good for you guys. I know I'm being light hearted but I really have been worried about you guys and I do so hope you guys are all okay and well and just having a much needed vacation. Let us know how you are soon. I'm praying and thinking of you guys! I miss and love ya too!!!
